True North 38

True North Yachts introduces the New True North 34; Classic New England style, performance and ease of use

Building on the success of its True North 38 and 33, a fast, affordable, and sensible family cruiser, True North Yachts™ introduces the True North 34. Designed for active cruising couples and families and inspired by the efficient, seaworthy New England lobster boats, the True North 34 makes boating more enjoyable and hassle-free. Tooling for the new vessel began in November of 2006 and the first hull is scheduled to splash in May of 2007.

The True North 34 features the distinctive and elegant lines of New England workboats, a powerful vertical stem, graceful sheer and classic reverse transom. Powered by a single Volvo Penta common rail diesel, the True North 34 provides a shallow draft, dry, fast, sure-footed and comfortable True North day or weekend cruiser. Sporting the same fine entry as the 38, the True North 34 has a knuckle forward above the waterline to provide spray control and to allow additional width for the V-berths. A bow thruster makes close-quarters handling easy and the True Trac tunnel provides a 2’11” shoal draft and protected skeg.

Balsa-cored construction throughout using SCRIMP™ infusion molding makes the True North Yachts True North 34 a tough boat without added weight. Our True Quiet operational noise reduction system reduces overall engine noise, while spray rails that start below the static waterline and a reduced chine flat contribute to a quiet and stable boat both at sea and at rest.

Maximizing space for guests to socialize is a high priority in the True North 34. Incorporating a hull motor pod allows the True North 34's engine to be installed between the cockpit and deckhouse sole creating 90-square-feet of unobstructed cockpit space. Wide side decks with a hefty bulwark make going forward safe and easy. The broad cabin top accommodates kayaks, canoes, dinghies, mountain bikes or other gear that today's active cruisers like to use in port. Opening the wide "clam shell" transom doors makes loading and unloading any of these toys a breeze. Our additional option of vertical doors also creates a full time swim platform for dive operations or fishing expeditions.

The True North 34 creates a great deal of functional living space and a real sense of openness by locating the dinette and galley in the deckhouse. New L-shape settee is enhanced by the versatility of the dual-function seat and convertible dinette table, when in the forward position, the seat acts as the forward section of the dinette and the seat adjusts to serve as the backrest for a two-person companion seat next to the helm. The dinette table can be lowered to form the center section of the dinette berth. Underway, the aft section seats a number of adults or becomes an ideal workstation for youngsters.

Minimizing bright work and complex systems makes the True North 34 easy and affordable to maintain. A simple hose down keeps the boat in top shape. Destined to be as popular as the TN38 and TN33, the True North 34 reflects the vast boat building experience and talent at Pearson Composites, LLC, and promises to be another success story.
